"MUSIC IN THE GARDENS" - a special fundraising event

Baroque Festival Special Events Committee is planning a Third Annual Garden Tour for the afternoon of Sunday, June 3rd. As in our first years, ticketholders will tour five wonderous gardens, each with luscious culinary treats and signature performance of live music. For further information, and to reserve a personal or gift ticket for the Garden Tour, phone Baroque Festival voicemail, (831) 457-9693.

Volunteer Activities
VOLUNTEER HOUSING NEEDED
Dreaming of a chance to host a stellar early music performer in your own home? The Festival is seeking housing for several out-of-area artists who will be in residence for our Baroque Orchestra, March 28 - April 1. They will rehearse, make a CD recording and play for you in Concert III, Bach to the Future. If you can offer up that spare room for up to 4 nights, phone Baroque Festival voicemail, (831) 457-9693.

OUTREACH ACTIVITIES - Developing Young Audiences

Baroque Festival volunteers are available for presentations highlighting several of our 2000 concerts. Targeting local middle and high schools, outreach previews prepare students to attend concerts. Educators interested in further information about Baroque Festival classroom presentations and complimentary schools tickets are invited to contact Josephine Alvarado at (831) 457-9693.

VOLUNTEERS WELCOME!

The Santa Cruz Baroque Festival is always in need of volunteers to assist them with the festival. In exchange for volunteering your time, you are welcome to enjoy one of the festival concerts for free—the more you volunteer the more concerts you enjoy!

Volunteer Ushers

Volunteer as an usher! Usher duties include stuffing and handing out programs, taking tickets at the door, and picking up following the performance. Ushers need to arrive one hour prior to show time to help prepare the concert location for audiences. Ushers are invited to take any open seat and enjoy the music once the concert begins.

Party Assistant

Twice a year the Santa Cruz Baroque Festival includes a reception after the concert. Party assistants help plan the reception, which may include preparation of food, and setting up the event. Party assistants also serve as hosts/hostesses during the reception. This is your chance to meet the people that make up the Santa Cruz Baroque Festival in a fun and helpful atmosphere.

Musical Instrument Mover

Period instruments are a unique feature of the Santa Cruz Baroque festival. Often, these rare instruments need to be returned to the University or someone’s home after the concert. This is a chance to get up close and personal with these fine instruments. A pair of strong, caring hands are all that’s needed for this job.

Stage Hand

Occasionally concerts are held at locations that require setting up risers and chairs. Stage hands are needed to help set up and tear down the risers prior to and after the concerts. This job may require you to be available during the day, at our rehearsal, as well as after the concert.

If you are interested in any of the Volunteer opportunities above, please contact Sandie at , or via email at
